The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is an organzation on campus that meets biweekly. This organization provides social events, fundraising events, networking events, and mentor/mentee events. It allows for students to participate in conferences get involved in an organization related to their major.
Senior Year
For my senior year, I was the President for the Fall 2019 semester. I was tasked with setting up the Fall freshman picnic, organizing our national conference in Orlando, FL, sponsorship, and preparing general meetings. Orlando was an amazing conference and I enjoyed seeing the city and getting to spend time with fellow AIChE members! The Fall freshman picnic went over well and there was a TON of support from the faculty. We had great opportunities with partnering companies and the general meetings went very well with the students. For the spring semester, I am taking a step back. I am staying involved and attending meetings, and going to regional conference.
Junior Year
To start the fourth year, I am again the secretary for the Fall 2018 semester, but I am taking on more responsibility this semester with conference to plan to take on a larger role next year. I am attending conference in Pittsburgh, PA on October 26-28th and I am very excited to learn more about chemical engineering and begin to look into full time positions. Stay tuned for more to come on Junior year!
Pre-Junior Year
The start of pre-junior in AIChE, I am the secretary for Summer 2017 and Spring 2018. As officers we rotate semesters so that all students have the opportunity to become an officer since we are co-oping and may not be located within Cincinnati. So far for the Fall 2017 semester, I have attended conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We had a blast learning at the different workshops, sight-seeing the city, and cheering on our ChemE Car Team! In the Spring of 2018 we were very busy! I participated in many different community service events, including Helping Hands. We traveled to Purdue for the regional conference, it was a really cool conference. Although there was not a ton to do while we were in Purdue, their engineering program was really interesting to learn about! I look forward to my final years within AIChe. Next year I am the secretary again for the Fall 2018 semester.
Sophomore Year
To start of my sophomore year in AIChE, I became the secretary for the Fall 2016 term. For officers we split up the positions by semester because we are all engineers and co-op different semesters. This allows for different perspectives to be met throughout the year. My job as a secretary is to monitor the publicity committee and to send out email biweekly reminding students that there is a meeting. Some of the things I have been involved in this year is attending the annual conference for AIChE that took place in San Francisco in November. I also attended regional conference which took place in Chicago, Illinois! For the upcoming year, I have been selected to be the secretary for the Summer 2017 and Spring 2018

Freshman Year
My freshman year was slightly scary, but I decided I wanted to get really involved in two clubs. One of those clubs that I chose was AIChE. I was involved in the social, publicity, and mentorship committee, along with being apart of the mentor/mentee program. I also attended multiple social events, and the regional conference in Miami, Ohio. All of these provided me with responsible and allowed for me to want to continue along with this program and participate more while I was in college. This pushed me to apply for the secretary position for Fall 2016.
