As I am going into my senior year, I am starting to reassess my personal and professional goals. My personal goals is to travel the world as much as possible, to continue to improve my fitness and my business, to try new foods and recipes whenever possible, and to continue to try new experiences and things that push me outside my comfort zone. These are my personal goals and all of these stem from different experiences that I have had this past year. In May 2018 I got to travel to Vienna, Austria! It was beautiful and I was so in awe of everything there. I had never been outside of the country before that and seeing the culture and the building just made me want to continue to explore the world and to travel whenever possible, and because of this goal, I get to travel to Greece and Egypt in December of 2019. Recently I decided to take ahold of my life and to start a fitness plan. I was very nervous about starting as I had NEVER finished anything in terms of fitness before, but today as I am on week 4 of my program (never made it past week 3 before), and seeing how my mindset in the gym and confidence about myself is improving, I want to continue to push myself, but then I also want to help others feel what I am feeling. I want to be able to help my classmates, strangers, professors lead a healthier lifestyle, but also to just show them that anyone can do it, and that you may fail multiple programs and have given up, but there is a program for everyone and you can now have someone to check in with you about it. Going with this, I want to explore my pallet, I have always been a picky eater and would not want to try new foods, but this year along I tried a lot of food in Vienna, I found out I like peppers, salmon, and a homemade barbecue sauce. With all of this, I want to push myself as far outside my comfort zone as I can allow, so that I can continue to see new experiences and to help others along the way. One way I did this, was when I decided to adopt my kitten, Luna. She is the sweetest little girl, but also super rambunctious, but as someone still in school, it is a lot of responsibility, but this experience made me realize that I really enjoy being around animals and I want to continue to volunteer for rescue organizations in the future. For my professional goals, my major one is that I want a job coming out of college, but more specifically, I am hoping that I can secure my job by the end of the Fall semester. I also want to revaluate the job in five years to ensure that I am happy with what I am doing. Because of my experiences this year, I am able to say that I want an industry job that will challenge me everyday coming out in college, and I also know that later in my life I may want to move into more of a business type role. I enjoyed the business role in my fourth co-op and I liked to see the challenges that it gave, but to me it was not challenging enough and I want that challenge right out of college, and I do really enjoy process engineering. So as I go forward I want to continue to push myself to reach my personal and professional goals, and continue to experience everything that I can, because these experiences have made me a more well rounded individual.
