My first co-op rotation was with BASF in Greenville, OH for the Spring 2017 term. During this term I was able to learn a lot of automotive coatings and the products that are made at the Greenville site. I learned where are coatings are applied within the automotive process and who we supply these coatings too. I was able to learn new software, work on cross-functional teams, and lead meetings. I worked in Resin 2 which was acrylics and through process hazard analysis meetings learned a lot about the different acrylics within the building. Throughout the semester I worked on various projects with various responsibility which allowed for me to gain more knowledge of what a operations engineer accomplishes day to day.
