My third rotation was within the process lab at the Cincinnati plant. My roles included blending lubricants (transportation), and analyzing samples by QC analysis. I worked a lot in the quality control lab this semester running various tests to ensure that all of the materials that were made in the lab were within specifications. I also blended lubricants with raw materials from the plant, and performed QC analysis to ensure that the products were within specifications. This helped to narrow down the problems that were occurring in the plant, and lead to conclusions being made about the test equipment and our procedures. Some of my other jobs include taking inventory, and labeling all the raw materials we had with GHS labels. This semester I learned a lot ore about the chemistry side of process engineering and how the process lab and QC is very critical for production.
